Walt Disney UK – Shannon, The Disney Princess Stage Performance at Westfields London
On the 7th July, it was a day where Shannon Saunders was performing a song – ‘The Glow’ at Vue Cinema at Westfields, London.
I was appointed to do Makeup and Hair for Shannon, New Disney Princess. Shannon is English singer song-writer who won Disney Channel UK contest ‘My camp rock 2’ in September 2010 and has been working with Disney ever since.
It was an early start of the day and Katie Ellerker, who is Event and Communication Manager for Europe at Walt Disney UK, waited for me there. With my early arrival, Katie took me on stage of the Vue 7 Cinema screen, where Shannon was performing later on and, we checked the spot light. Lighting check. Tick. Lighting check again. Tick. Enough time for preparation. Tick. Makeup began. Tick.
I was very curious what outfit Shannon will have to wear. The T-shirt was specifically designed for the performance. and as soon as I saw it, I got an idea for Stage Make up and Hair I should create.
Shannon brought a simple black leggins, jacket in khaki colour mixed with beige covered with lace. Fitted so beautifully together and matched well with her designed T-shirt. A little, grown-up princess covered with golden glittzer on some part of the dress. We all agreed – it was so Shannon!
Shannon’s Make up was more stage personality makeup so I decided to do a bit more of makeup with the attention on the eye and hair. One of the statement pieces I chose were false eyelashes. I do think Shu Uemera false lashes are the best out there. We went for a statement once – Black Velvet Feather False Eyelashes. They are incredible easy to apply and the thick rim is helping with an application as you have something to hold onto and, if you have Shu Uemera eyelash applicator, you have nothing to worry about.
I did prep in heated rollers with help from Frederic Fekkai coiff strong hold volume mousse. It was a perfect strong hold while we were creating Shannon’s stage Disney Princess look.
Shannon looked amazing, a bit nervous at first being on the stage but done so well on the stage and after.
It was great to be part of this and look forward working with Walt Disney UK again…
I will be speaking to you sometimes soon,
All my stage and Disney love,
