Sailing Beauty Essentials
These 5 Beauty Essentials which I picked are fantastic for any outdoor activities. Sometimes we need more than one choice, particularly in different season so, I give you an alternative for each product which I used on the sailing days last month.
In April, my partner and I did sailing course, Level 1. Our Sailing course was taken place in The Grafham Water Centre Perry, Huntington and lasted two full days, over the weekend. On the first day, we had a wind and sun. Second day, we were praying for more wind in the afternoon but there was mainly sun. For both days we had just enough wind to learn the basics and to feel more comfortable than we started. As we all had a boat each to learn on, it became quite challenging at times. Physical strength is required and lighter you are the better you can manoeuvre once inside the boat especially on dinghy boats. There was no time for sunbathing as wet suits were required but, surely we managed to prepare the boat on each day individually, learnt boat handling, dinghy rescue, capsizing, gybing and most of all understand the wind and how best use the wind to your advantage. We are planning for the next course and, so ready for the Level 2.!
On the day, I was well prepared with my beauty essentials. I was ready to protect my skin, nails and hands. Normally, when you in contact with water for few hours non-stop, hands do become really cold after about a couple of hours esp when sailing and esp in UK so I would highly recommend really good hand cream. Here I selected 5 of my choice.
My 5 Sailing Beauty Essentials
Erborian CC Creme’ Spf 25
I chose this product because I wanted a bit of even-out my complexion and protection. Yes, you must be laughing why I would want to even-out my complexion. Well and, why not! Feel better about it and most of the time is, I feel awake. So Erborian CC creme is korean magic cream which helps you even out imperfections, its one colour for all as adjust to your skin colour and has spf 25. Simply winner! For those – men & women who would like an alternative, try Zelens Daily Defence spf 30 – 15% off on your first order at Style.com when spend £150. Well formulated, Zelens daily protective cream contains powerful anti-oxidants and it is without any colour if, compared with Erborian CC Cream.
Organic Pharmacy Lip Balm
Antioxidant lip balm from Organic Pharmacy is soft and super moisturising. Shea butter and rosehip gives moisture but it feels a bit oily at times. So here is another alternative.
For those who would prefer a lip balm with spf., The UltraSun Lip balm spf30. is very hydrating, non greasy and had moments when applied on top of my matte lipstick too. Fight those harmful rays with a powered lip balm from UltraSun! Get 3 for the price £12 at QVC or 1 lip balm for £6 at Space NK. No brainer!
Grown Alchemist Hand Cream
What a powerful, super hydrating formula but without leaving your hands super-super moisturising. Prefer Grown Alchemist hand cream as it feels more potent in ingredients. Vitamin A and Omega’s 3,6,7 replenish and strengthens the skin. Meaning; you need a pea size and your hands feel lovely and protected. Has uplifting scent similar to Aesop. Free from parabens, silicones, not tested on animals and it is vegan.
Pure Skincare Waitrose Hand Cream
Pure feels a slightly more diluted, more watery texture than Grown Alchemist. You need few more ‘pea sizes’ for your hands to feel properly moisturised. But, always good to have two hand creams handy. Or, try UltraSun Hand Anti-pigmentation with spf.30. Waterproof formula, non greasy. Perfect for those summer hot days! 15% off on gorgeous shop web site. Maybe spf hand cream would be more ideal for summer.
Windle and Moodie Invisible Day & Night Cream with UV filter
What an invisible hair cream! Light, weightless and leaves hair well hydrated and UV filter which protects your colour. I have talked about this magic-invisible hair cream many times so you might be able to read about it in more details in my previous blogs. You can buy it on Space NK site or Windle and Moodie site. Lisa Eldridge one of hers fav hair product in UK or on her travels.
Wishing you a lots of exciting adventures this Summer and don’t forget to protect your skin, hands and hair.
