Julia Yoga Teacher

After 7 years of practicing different styles of yoga, this year in March 2018, Julia completed 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica.

My first introduction to Yoga was back in spring 2011 in South West, London. It was Bikram style. The yoga room was so hot you could barely breath but majority of us would be back to Balham studio 2-3 times per week. The 90 minutes in the room became ‘love and hate relationship’. The room was high as 40C if not hotter and if, some might say, a heated room will loosen your muscles and you can go further in your posture. But, how good is it for your body which is over 37C?  Are there no risk of injuries in a such heat? Well, I managed to hurt my back or, overstretched my back a couple of times, back in 2011 and 2012. Until, I experienced a different style of yoga on a yoga retreat in Turkey in autumn 2013, I knew its time to stop with Bikram style. Don’t get me wrong, hot yoga – with lower temperate around 37C should be and, I have experienced at TRiYoga London and, I loved it. I felt benefit straight away after one session.

Since, I have also been practicing Iyengar, Yin, Restorative, Ashtanga, Jivamukti and Hatha in TriYoga, London and Camyoga Cambridge.

Listen to your body, it’s smarter than you think.

Over the years, I have learnt how to listen to my body and a teacher. Listen to your teacher but most importantly, listen what your body is telling you. After years of suffering with lower back and SI joint instability, I have had to learn what not to do in yoga and style itself and, what to do to which will benefit my low back pains symptoms. So any of you have difficulties in LBP lower back pains, got any injuries or suffer of any sort of pains, I can relate to it.

So I am here to guide you and help you to build up towards the pose slowly and safely. Its the journey of yoga and discovering what yoga has to offer. And, you will get to experience ‘your own yoga journey.’

Safe and mindful yoga practice, customised yoga poses with intuitive approach. We can start as a group session and you can decide on 1-2-1 after. In 1-2-1 sessions, I go deeper and more customised sequences which will help you and you only. Private 1-2-1 yoga session runs for 6 weeks with 1.15hour each.
